Books to Film Partnership between JC Films and Lighthouse Publishing
We are very pleased to introduce, exclusively to our authors, an exciting partnership between Lighthouse Publishing and JC Films. We know that many authors would love to see their books or stories made into a feature film, but until now, such dreams were, most often, just that. Dreams.
The costs involved in producing a film in Hollywood are typically in the many millions of dollars, and what author has the connections or the finances to be able to land that kind of a deal? Well, through this partnership, Lighthouse Publishing authors are being given the opportunity to have their books or stories professionally produced into a feature-length Hollywood-quality film.
Sound too good to be true? It's not.
Because of the unique production model JC Films has developed during the making of their last eight films, they can masterfully produce theater-quality movies for only a tiny fraction of the budget that would be necessary in Hollywood. By including the entire communities where each movie is filmed, production costs can be whittled down to what a single day of production in Hollywood might run.
This is how it works. The author should partner with a church or community organization for the film's production. Through this partnership, the necessary budget can be raised, and the entire community will be utilized, which, when folks are excited about a film being produced there, many of them will volunteer their time and efforts in both on-screen and off-screen positions. Such community involvement is what allows JC Films to produce movies with a budget that most average sized churches or community organizations will be able to raise.
How many churches wouldn't love an opportunity for their people and surrounding community to be featured in a nationally-marketed movie?
Typically, this type of production by JC Films can be accomplished with a budget of $120k to $150k, but, depending on some unique production needs, could go as high as $200k (but, that would be very unusual). Filming is usually done over a one-month period, and then post production should take anywhere from four to eight months, depending on the film.
After that, Lighthouse Publishing will act as the film's distributor, much like we do with books. JC Films will retain a small portion of the net proceeds, and the remainder will be divided between Lighthouse Publishing and the author (and the author's church/community organization partners).
If this is something that interests you, and you would like to explore it further, JC Films will discuss the necessary information with you, and then will meet with the primary individuals in the church or community organization to help get the project underway.
Please let us know if you would like to be considered for this unique opportunity to, one day, see your story on the big screen!
