With the rise of "Nones" (those who pick "None of the above" on religion surveys), a narrative has arisen in American culture that an increasing secularization of our culture and our youth is inevitable. It is implied, asserted, and assumed that this is because the secular worldview is superior to a religious one. Thus, no matter what parents do, a growing number of religious children will abandon Christianity and embrace secularism. This does not have to happen. The Persuasive Christian Parent will educate Christian parents about nine foundational concepts they can teach their children to build in them an enduring lifelong faith. Mike D'Virgilio, a graduate of Arizona State University, received his Masters degree in systematic theology from Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia. He has contributed to numerous blogs over the years, but now blogs exclusively at http://persuasivechristianparent.com/.
