Rylee Vance
Who has time for anything else when you are working full time and putting yourself through college? Rylee does. She volunteers at a free clinic. When she learns that a bill before the state senate is going to cut funding to the free clinics in her state she realizes that she must do something to stop it. She asks for God's help and rolls up her sleeves. When she starts to dig deeper she discovers that this "tax cut" bill isn't going to cut taxes at all but that it is just a shell game run by a small group of politicians to fund their pork barrel projects. One small problem. Rylee doesn't know anything about politics.
Thom Richardson
Thom no longer believes that there is a god who actually takes notice of anyone. Except for caring for his infant neice he has withdrawn into his law practice and career as a politician. In spite of his bitterness towards "church people" he is enticed into Rylee's battle. Will he recognize the hand of God as Rylee is rising not just to defeat a bill that is wrong but more importantly rising to heal him if he will only allow it.
