Can an average guy end up running for a prominent political position without really trying? It sounds unlikely, but the reader will be thinking about its plausibility as this seemingly ridiculous story advances.  
 
Many like to poke fun at politicians while watching their TV commercials. But for Pete, the satirical teasing of a political campaign leads to a group of college students pushing him into a presidential campaign so they can get a good grade in their political science class. That campaign takes on a life of its own as Pete finds his reluctance to continue constantly sidetracked by the unexpected efforts of a growing number of supporters and detractors. But he also learns there is a dark side to politics that presents a disdainful, blind eye for any show of sincerity.  
 
Can a small restaurant manager successfully manage a campaign to become president of the United States? The readers of this fun story may find there are circumstances that could bring such an odd scenario to life.
