“Go Towards the Light” is the story of a small farm in a small town. However, this is not your average farm. This particular farm is home to some unique plants and animals, Corey for one. Corey is a cabbage and not just any old head of cabbage. He possesses the strange characteristic of being able to regrow into different places and into different plants. This is almost never by choice, but it is always for Corey’s own good. He unwittingly is thrown into new surroundings and new situations. In this instance, his destination is the home of a little boy and his troubled mother. Corey misses the farm and the friends he had there: Mr. Gavin, the farmer, Louis, the dog, and all the other farm residents. But, Corey somehow always blooms where God replants him. Along the way, Corey finds out some surprising facts about the farm, about his life, and about himself. He finds out that growing up isn’t always easy and that grown-ups of all types have their different problems. Albeit, in the process of moving forward, Corey is forced to take another look at himself, as well as others, and he even has a little fun along the way.
