When hunger lures Mr. Grayfish to the top of the lake his life changes dramatically. He finds himself relocated to a fish tank in a bedroom shared by two brothers. It’s a strange new world of plastic coral and blue beady rocks. He is not embracing his limited space and having to share it with a friendly shiny goldfish. Mr. Grayfish floats and mopes at the top of the tank day after day. 
 
The goldfish desires a friendship with the grumpy grayfish. Every night, Bible stories are read in the bedroom near the fish tank. The goldfish hears the stories and contemplates how to help the grumpy grayfish. She waits patiently until she gains the boldness to speak to the grumpy grayfish about the love of Jesus.  
 
The goldfish gives ‘hind’ sight to Mr. Grayfish having a heart shaped fishtail. She shares the realization that God has a plan for everyone and sheds new light on his destiny that Mr. Grayfish may never have found if he stayed living in the sea.
