Children In The Bible
In this, the 6th Volume in the Eyewitness Series”, we turn our focus to the attention of the Bible to CHILDREN.
Children are at the very heart of our world-wide society! They are the product of “procreation” and enable mankind to continue on the face of this planet. Every one of you reading this book began as A CHILD! You were raised within a particular family culture that made you who you are today.
Sociologists study and write extensively on the aspect of Children and the impact of the Family upon those Children. In this book, “Children In The Bible.” we will be looking at a wide range of very special children mentioned in the Holy Scripture. Most of these will be very familiar to most readers, some less so.
The children will be listed in the chronological order in which they first appeared in the bible. Some were not mentioned as children, but everyone has been a child at one time or another. While we will be writing about some 30 or so children from the bible, we will also intersperse chapters regarding verses that focus on children in general.
The ROLE of children in our society is just as critical as it was in early biblical times (Adam and Eve) through the New Testament. It is still a major issue in American Society and the entire WORLD as well. I have spent over 60 years in the field of education and can never forget that EDUCATION, despite the political arguments, is ALWAYS about the RAISING OF CHILDREN.
I hope and pray that our views of children will be enhanced by a closer look at the biblical discussion of “children” and viewing the amazing stories about the young people we focus on in this work.
